Power

From where does our power come?

You have the power to affect me.  You have the power to change me.  You have the power to make me capable of more then I could ever imagine.  When we are affirmed by someone, when we know we have someone counting on us, when someone places their faith in us - we are able to overcome.  As Christians, we place our faith in Christ.  We trust fully that he has the power to enact change.  We believe in Him blindly.  But Christ has also placed his faith in us.  He has trusted us, enough to die for us.  Enough to give us his inheritance.  When you feel discouraged.  When you feel that you have no support.  When you feel like you can accomplish nothing.  You must remember, the God of the universe has placed his faith in you.  You can do anything.

Having the Lord with you is infinite.  You cannot improve upon that.  God is everything, to add more faith is not possible.  That is why we should be content in God.  That is why we should never find ourselves discouraged.  But in those times that we allow sin to distance us and separate us - it is God working through community that delivers us.  We must remember that we are tools for God's glory.  We must encourage one another and put our faith and trust in one another as God has put his faith in us to the point of sacrificing himself so that we may live.  The power of faith is truly incomparable.  Faith the size of a mustard seed can move a mountain.  I have seen mountains move in the lives of those who once had no support suddenly come in contact with the words, "I believe in you!"

God believes in you.  You don't have to prove anything.  You just need to believe in him too.

10I rejoice greatly in the Lord that at last you have renewed your concern for me. Indeed, you have been concerned, but you had no opportunity to show it. 11I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. 12I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. 13I can do everything through him who gives me strength.

Philippians 4:10-13
